4 Places to Eat in Finland, MN

If you blink, you will miss the sweet small town of Finland, MN. The turn from Hwy 61, onto County Road 1 is that moment where, "Up North" feels like up north. The rolling hills, the massive tree coverages and the scarcity of homes, traffic, and people. The town of Finland itself consists of two restaurants, a post office, a coop and a gas station. But let's be honest....small town people know how to cook. I swear their recipes come right from grandma's index card from the back of the cupboard. They are a perfect place to stop after a day of hiking the Superior Hiking trail, ATVing the Moose Run Trail, or snowmobiling through the miles and miles of trails that the Superior National Forest has to offer. Here is a list of a few of our favorite places to grab a bite to eat.

1) Four Seasons- Fish fry and wild rice hotdish. These are the two of the fan favorites. They are always serving up an ice-cold beer, cocktail, and a smile. They have all you can eat fish Fry every Friday night is delicious. If a side dish is an option...the wild rice is hotdish is awesome. They have a full menu that is more that greasy fried food.

3) Trestle Inn- You likely have seen the Trestle Inn on the news, magazines, or social media as a must stop on the north shore. It is location is only 3 miles from UT1 Cabin Rentals. The Trestle is built out of old train trestles (hence it's name) and has large upstairs space for larger parties. The drive to the Trestle is beautiful whether you take 166 or County Rd. 7 or backroads from Isabella. Their menu is your typical bar menu and good burgers. Make sure to check their website for hours as they are limited throughout the seasons.

4) Wildhurst- Wildhurst is located just west of the town of Finland. Their menu is limited with pizza and a few other selections. It is a great atmosphere and the new owners are awesome. They are right off the ATV and snowmobile trail, making it a perfect stop to warm up. Wildhurst also has a campground that is worth checking out!
